I conceived of the idea for this series, found authors and guided the development of each volume. Glossaries were published in both hard cover and paperback. The Glossary of Semiotics was translated into Bulgarian and published in Bulgaria.

Readers and students approaching Cognitive Science often find themselves adrift in a sea of unfamiliar terminology. Here are the terms, concepts and thinkers from the contributing disciplines of philosophy, psychology, artificial intelligence and linguistics, defined briefly and clearly, with abundant examples. This glossary is a compact resource for understanding a sophisticated and fascinating field.

Epistemology and Philosophy of Science are two related foundational areas of philosophy. Drawing upon an overlapping and very technical vocabulary, the literature and texts of the field are often as inaccessible to students and other readers. Here is a handy, compact resource that accurately and simply defines key terms and concepts, explains fine distinctions and aids understandings of current debates.

The field of Semiotics may seem like a Tower of Babel in which newly coined words and exotic uses of ordinary words can frustrate even motivated readers. This compact resource is a key to the specialized vocabulary of a growing international community of scholars in philosophy, anthropology, literatur, cultural studies, cinema and women's studies. Clear, straightforward definitions shed light on the semiotic texts of Peirce, Saussure, Levi-Strauss, Barthes, Eco, Kristeva, Derrida, Irigaray and others.
